The Mayor’s Bangers & Bingo – Fun for a Good Cause!
Last Friday evening, Yr Hen Ysgol was full of good cheer as Mayor Cllr Tracey Brennan hosted her Bangers & Bingo fundraiser in support of Marie Curie and DASU North Wales.
Guests at the sold-out charity event enjoyed good company, an evening of bingo, a raffle, and hearty sausages in a bun topped with caramelised onions! The atmosphere was upbeat, with Abergele’s generous businesses showing their dedication to the community by donating a wide assortment of prizes for “one line”, “two lines”, “full house”, and an array of extra surprise goodies for the raffle.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who made the evening such a success – from the guests who brought such a lively spirit, to dignitaries from the neighbouring Town Councils of Towyn & Kinmel Bay, Rhyl, Rhuddlan, and Prestatyn, who came along to show their support, and to all those who donated prizes, helped out behind the scenes, and made it all possible.
Together, the community raised almost £800 for two incredible charities:
- Marie Curie provides expert care, support, and guidance for people living with terminal illnesses and their families, helping them make the most of the time they have together.
- DASU North Wales offers vital support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, including refuge accommodation, advocacy, and specialist services for children and young people.
Once again, Abergele has proven that when the community comes together, good things happen.
