Community Spirit Shines at Abergele Fun Day

Abergele Town Council would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended this year's Abergele Fun Day at Pentre Mawr Park, helping to make it another memorable celebration of community spirit, family fun and local organisations.

Residents and visitors enjoyed a range of free activities throughout the day, including Scaly Safari, Flyball UK, Gecko Golf, Lorenzo’s children's teacup ride, Menter Iaith Conwy and free garden games. The tug-of-war especially popular with both children and adults, who showed good-natured competition.

The ever-popular Fun Dog Show attracted plenty of entries and spectators, and entertainment was provided throughout the event by a variety of talented local performers. Cat McCardle, compere, kept the performances running smoothly, while visitors enjoyed performances from The Marinas, Elliw Jones, Crazy Catz, and a lively Danny Go Tribute Act by SH Kids Parties.

New this year was the Taste of Wales experience. Visitors enjoyed live cooking demonstrations sponsored by Food & Drink Wales and delivered by Meals with Chris, with free tasters allowing people to sample a variety of dishes and pick up useful cooking tips. Attendees were also able to enjoy tasting a selection of locally produced Welsh produce from Blas ar Fwyd, helping to showcase the quality and variety of Welsh food and drink products.

The event also provided an opportunity for residents to meet and engage with a range of community groups, charities, public services and local organisations.

The Town Council was also pleased to provide free snack bags for children attending the event. The fresh fruit, was sponsored by Tesco.

Abergele Town Council would like to thank all performers, activity providers, community groups, volunteers, sponsors, visitors, whose support and participation contributed to such a successful day. The Town Council would also like to give thanks to Events Conwy for all their hard work pulling the event together, and making sure the day ran smoothly and safely, and to Combat Wombat, Drones Cymru, and Abergele TV for capturing the day on film.

Events like this give residents and visitors the opportunity to spend time together, support local organisations and celebrate all that is positive about our community. The atmosphere throughout the day was fantastic, and it was especially pleasing to see so many families taking part in the activities and enjoying the entertainment.
